Mango chicken recipe is one of the very easy chicken curry recipes. Usually an Indian chicken curry is made from onion and tomato masala but in this one we will raw mango also known as kacha aam (kairi)in Hindi, instead of tomatoes.
So this kacha aam ka chicken curry will be spicy, tangy and yummy. You can use a pressure cooker to make this chicken curry. That way it will get cooked faster. Sometimes simple recipes such as this one, can turn out to be fabulous.
Ingredients required are
* 1 kg chicken (skinless, on the bone, cut into small pieces) * 3-4 thinly sliced onions * 1 Tsp ginger garlic paste * 2 Tbsp oil * 3-4 cloves * 1/2 inch cinnamon stick * 2 green cardamoms * 3-4 chopped green chilies (to taste) * 2 Tsp coriander powder * 1 Tsp red chili powder * 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder * Half a small raw mango (peeled and chopped) * 3-4 curry leaves * 1 Tbsp kasoori methi * Salt to taste
Method
Heat oil in non stick cooking pan and crackle the cloves, cardamoms and cinnamon. Next, saute the onions till light brown. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for another 30 seconds.
Add all the dry masala powders, chicken and mango. Stir and cook on high for 3-4 minutes. Add 1-2 cups water, salt, curry leaves and kasoori methi (dry fenugreek leaves). Mix and transfer into a pressure cooker and cook till done. In case of no pressure cooker, cover and cook on a medium flame till chicken becomes soft.
