Prawns Fry Recipe - Dry Prawns with Spring onions
Prawns fry is a healthy recipe as it involves only stir frying. Prepared in no time, this recipe can be served as side dish. Ingredients required are... - 8-10 spring onions (bulbs and stalks sliced diagonally and kept separately)
- 1 cup dry Prawns (washed and soaked in salted water for about half an hour)
- 1 Green chili (chopped)
- 2 Tsp of Garlic (chopped)
- ½ Tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 pinches of Asafoetida (hing)
- 2 Tsp oil
- Salt to taste
Heat the oil in a pan/kadai. Add the mustard seeds, when they splutter add the asafoetida, garlic, chili and the sliced onions bulbs. Saute for 2-3 minutes. Squeeze the prawns out of the water, they should have become a little soft and spongy by now. Add them into the pan. Keep stirring. Add the salt. Cover and simmer for 4-5 minutes (or till the prawns are cooked). Time for all the spring onions to go in. Mix well and cook for 3 more minutes on a high flame, till the spring onions become a little soft. That's it. Serve with noodles, rice or bread.
